It is been a dull and rainy day today. No blue skies and no sunshine, and a daytime temperature down to 18C.

This evening as I look out from our window across Doha, the water on the roads, pavements and the ledges of our building reflects the city lights.

Rain is not unusual at this time of year, but it is the first time I have experienced anything more than a few drops.
